About Us
Mission
The National Environmental Agency (KTA) was established as a restructuring of the Environment and Forestry Agency in support of Law No. 10431, dated 09.06.2011 “On Environmental Protection” and Decision of the Council of Ministers No. 568 dated 17.07.2019 “On the establishment, organization and functioning of the National Agency of Mejdis and the Order of the Prime Minister no. 23, dated 03.02.2020 “On the Approval of the Structure and Organics of the National Environment Agency”.
The National Environmental Agency is a central public institution under the Minister, which exercises its jurisdiction throughout the territory of the Republic of Albania, through the central office of the KTA and 4 Regional Environmental Agencies.
The National Environmental Agency is financed from the State Budget and its own resources and has independence in decision-making and performance of its functions, provided by law. The National Environment Agency is headquartered in Tirana and has its own stamp.
KTA has the mission of protecting, preserving and improving the environment as a vital asset for present and future generations, preventing and reducing risks to human life and health, ensuring and improving the quality of life, prudent and rational use of its nature and resources in the framework of sustainable development of the country.
The functions of the National Environmental Agency are: a) Ensuring environmental performance;
b) Research and environmental knowledge; c) Environmental impact assessment and licensing; and d) Thematic inspection and control for compliance with legal requirements and environmental conditions.

Përgatit për ministrin informacione vlerësimi për ndikimet që mund të vijnë nga propozimet për miratim apo ndryshime legjislative në nivel kombëtar apo ndërkombëtar.
